Self translation of my Poem "Vah"

AN ORDINARY MAN

With hopes and despair
He is racing with gasping steps
In many directions and on many paths
At the speed of an ant
Within the  constraints of time

Shakespeare, Shaw, Russel, Homer,
Churchil, Lincoln , Kennedy
Nehru, Gandhi, Subhash, Patel,
Tagore, Napolean, Hitlar, Mussolini
Pable Picaso, Michealengo
Leonard da Vinci –
He had read everyone and
Their biographies

His Desires are
To become someone like that
To be absorbed in the pages of history
To be on the lips of people
To become famous
But
He is leading an “ ordinary
Married life”

Within his own little ‘Circle’
He is considered intelligent
But others around him
Considers him to be mad man
Perhaps because he is a junior Clerk
Man is known by his post and not
Wisdom in our Society

The roads are moving at a  fast pace
Huge Machines are churning out products
Globalization and the liberalization policies
Of the Western countries are
Bringing underdeveloped nations into their clutches

Such a huge world and its contours
Crushed his dwarf personality
He remained chained to his situations
Could not break his own shackles

In few days, people will forget him
His body will be consumed in the flames
History will not absorb him in its vast encompass
His contribution has been nothing
He could not decide which course to choose
During his short life span

Was he weak?
Was he slave to his circumstances?
Was he a tiny Clerk”
You Decide………
